About the Role

Ford of Pleasanton—operating within our newly built, state-of-the-art dealership facility—is seeking a driven, experienced, and customer-focused Sales Manager to lead our sales team to success. As a key member of our leadership staff, you will guide daily operations, coach sales associates, drive performance, and ensure an exceptional guest experience that reflects our “Under promise, over deliver” philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Performance

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales consultants to achieve monthly volume, gross, and CSI goals.

  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs.

  • Conduct daily sales meetings and training sessions to build product knowledge, process consistency, and confidence.

  • Manage sales processes including Steps to the Sale, phone handling, follow-up, and CRM discipline.

  • Oversee new and used sales operations to ensure proper inventory merchandising and pricing strategies.

Customer Experience

  • Model and reinforce a guest-first culture focused on transparency, empathy, and professionalism.

  • Handle customer escalations with tact, fairness, and problem-solving ability.

  • Monitor CSI results and implement action plans to maintain top-tier scores.

Inventory & Deal Management

  • Partner with GM to optimize inventory levels, aging, and turn rates.

  • Desk deals accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with lender guidelines and dealership policies.

  • Review trade appraisals, deal jackets, and required documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Support pricing decisions, incentives, and promotional strategies.

Team Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach sales consultants with a focus on long-term growth.

  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and performance reviews.

  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and adherence to El Toro Auto Group processes.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of automotive sales experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership or desking role.

  • Proven success in achieving volume and gross objectives in a dealership environment.

  • Strong understanding of CRM usage, lead management, and follow-up processes.

  • High proficiency in desking, product presentations, trade evaluations, and deal structure.
